@pete Yes it is generally grown for the leaves, but the fruit and rind can also be used. I too have seen some online ranging from a 1lt pot up to 3lt.

@noisette47 Thank you for the link. If I was going to order online, I'd likely use a UK site. I did see them on another overseas site. That company delivered to the whole of Europe- except the UK.

Anyone would think I'm looking for a unicorn! :rolleyespink:

@pete Thank you so much. I had no idea that Etsy sold plants! I always thought it was just for home-made crafts! You learn something new every day :).

I had a kaffir lime... I didn't treat it properly - I think I over watered it... and it basically died. Very soon after, the stock under the graft site started sprouting shoots.
I took one off , stuck it in a pot, and now it is a very healthy, bushy, very citrussy something.
I say something because I haven't the foggiest idea what it is - but it grows well and I have used the leaves in the past when I'm cooking.
Leaves are fairly simple - not doubled like the kaffir lime, but pointed, probably half as wide as they are long - no fruit or flowers though, so no idea what it is!

Yes probably a root stock, but most likely something like bitter orange.
I've got some citrus on Poncirus and some on something completely different. Not sure what it is but has the winged leaves.

That's the one advertised on google search as "3ft tree for £22" then you find out it's less than a foot...

It also states hardy to minus 5c.
              Somehow I doubt that.

Me too. A young plant would need to be kept cool but frost free. Once the trunk and leaves have hardened up they will resist 0°C.

Likewise, having had them in Thailand I wanted to grow one here. I bought one off ebay last year (I've just double checked and the shop owner isn't selling them at the moment) but managed to kill it by mid winter. The little leaves that all fell off were nice and tasty though!

For anyone still looking for a Kaffir Lime, I have just received a catalogue from You Garden and they are selling them for £29.99.
