So the one driving was delivering the deliverer . My neighbour gets his newspaper delivered by two in a car :thud:.

I just want to say that I actually got a message from Amazon this evening. I've spent a seemingly unnecessary amount of time chasing the issue of my missing Potting Grit. They now inform me that I WILL get a refund - in 5-7 working days. I reserve my right to readdress the problem should I not get my money back.
I should not have had to be pushy - but I'm not afraid to do so when required. However, I will definitely be more careful in my choices of dealing with Amazon and ANY seller in the future. Head for Trustpilot! Thank you to so many for your helpful comments and advice.
Lesson learned. Now to wait for my refund.

Investigate before you invest, indeed. Have you read the latest tale on the BBC website about people losing their life savings buying barrels of whisky? How could anyone think it's a good idea to spend £50k on a barrel - it's not delivered to them so they don't even get to drown their sorrows when they find out how much they lost!

I generally find them OK. I've had a couple of items lost or not even shipped - always 3rd party sellers - and got my money back. I've also had to get replacement remote controls several times - it's so annoying when you buy an expensive bit of kit and the remote dies within months. The online chat seems to be the best way to talk to them.

Seeing today’s joke about not knowing what you’ve got till it’s gone made me think of Joni Mitchell’s Big Yellow Taxi.

1968 - oh how we laughed at the lyrics! We’re not laughing now. Trump’s America fits the bill -everything from the taxi taking away a family member (to El Salvador?) to the deforestation and loss of government wildlife oversight and administration to Gaza with its pink hotel and a swingin’ hotspot.

              Listen and see if agree…

@Jiffy, yes, the cash ISA allowance is still at 20k for the tax yr 25-26. There might be a change in the autumn statement, but that could not be applied retrospectively. So, from April 6, you can plonk some money in one if you want. :blue thumb:

@Jiffy I watched the Spring Statement and all I remember of significance was the reduction in benefits for certain people. But it has been announced somewhere that sole traders with turnover of £20,000 will have to do Making Tax Digital from 2028. That means they will have to use different software and file quarterly. Glad it's not me.

B&Q texted me yesterday to say my delivery would between 9:30 and 11:30 this morning, and that the delivery driver would phone me an hour before to make sure I was there. I had no phone call, and noticed just after 9am that a delivery note had been shoved through my front door, and all the stuff was piled up outside!

Still, at least it's all here, and the compost bags weren't too heavy for me to move to the garage by myself.

To some degree yes - regardless of the overall owners may be foreign, the likes of JLR, Nissan, Aston Martin and so on are all employers that we cannot afford to lose. Indeed, the government cannot afford to lose the export duties either.

Following @Spruce letting us know Dobies has free P&P today :blue thumb:, I was about to buy something. But when I go to pay via PayPal, the P&P has already been added and I have no way to put in the code. :dunno: I am not forking out £6.99 to have 5 mini plug plants sent, thank you very much! :th scifD36:

Do you have to open an account and then use a debit card to put in the code?

You don’t need to have a account to get the free p&p , should have a code but you will get a email from Dobies to confirm the order just reply to that and say the code hasn’t worked

Update just looked add your email to dobies to subscribe and the free p&p will be in the email they send you

Thank you, @Spruce and @Loofah. Not keen on subscribing, so might wait till T&M lists the same plugs on Ebay, as they do each yr P&P free.
