ooohh I think ill get some bordeaux mixture in ready, it was a bit disheartening when these were my first tomato plants and ide grew them from seeds, checked on them a few times everyday day till they got to about 5 foot to see them wiped in in about 4 days lol

Is it known where this comes from as it was a brand new greenhouse, new compost (Bagged) and grown from seed in the greenhouse ?

I may have over watered the plants because I set up a hose pipe with pin holes around the inside of the greenhouse so when I turned it on it would spray the plants like a mist as I assumed they would enjoy it that way.

I think blight spores are airborne, so unfortunately you can't really avoid them. They start to travel when a sustained period of damp weather arrives.

Thast what i have been told too, Clara:thumb:......that and it can survive on the infected seeds:dh:, if you harvest them and use the following year, not sure how much truth there is in that one though:cnfs:

Yes - I'm sure fruit and veg are sprayed with systemic fungicides & pesticides thats why they look so nice and last much longer on the supermarkets shelves. Even the so called 'organic' growers use Bordeaux mixture as a precautionary spray during the season. They have a dispensation from the soil association allowing them to use it and still call their produce 'organic'

    That sounds about right lol

I thought it must have come from my stuff as all were new, the greeenhouse/seeds/soil and I have never planted anything previously. I am pretty sure I over watered them though... my mistake :)

Armed with all this helpful info though im sure I will be able to get at least one edible tomato next year... thanks again for all the advice.
