hi i have a garden which is about 40ft long by 20 wide with a 6ft fence down each longside and a 12ft brick wall at the end of the garden. the sun rises from the bottm of the garden and sets over the house so one 6ft fence is shaded all day , what would be a good choice of shrubs as i have 3 staffordshire bull terreirs , the soil is clay with about 2" topsoil on it cheers in advance j

Its your choice really just make sure the labels say full sun or shade. most shrubs tolerate most soils unless you grow really acid or alkaline plants

    Hi woody
If you would like the shrubs to give a bit of winter interest . The following evergreen shrubs are available at most garden centres , plus there will be many others. A quick google on them will say if they are suitable for your shady spot , and what size and shape they will grow to .:thumb:
    Ceanothus thyrsiflorus
    Pyracantha (climber)
    Photinia
    Pieris
    Choisya 'Aztec Pearl'
    Escallonia 'Red Elf'
    Olearia 'Haastii'
    Leucothoe 'Scarletta'
