    Does that really work Pal?
Was thinking of trying net cover over a few next year
    but may try nasturtiums too.

And Capney - definitely caterpillars as the little blighters
were still on some of the cabbages - well what was left of them.

Oh dear. Oh dearie, dearie me. Commiserations.

I'd definitely try the small mesh netting which has worked well for me this year.

I planted nasturtians and yes the cabbage white does lay on them, just make sure you cover your cabbage as they can't half eat through leaves at a very quick rate.

:thumb: Oh dear jjordie, what a sad sight to see...!! :(
:thumb:I have Nasturtiums inter-planted with my beans & cabbages & yes it does seem to work & on blackfly too...!!!!... The little beggers seem to go for the Nasturtiums rather than beans & greens...!!;)

I would have agreed with the guys and girls who say nasturtiums are brilliant at attracting cabbage flies but then again our neighbour (down on the allotment) has nasturtiums less than a foot away from his cabbages and yes you guessed it the nasturtiums are caterpillar free while the cabbages are covered in them!

The nasturtiums in our home gardens have gone from looking stunning to a tangled mess it's covered in the little pests I keep picking the blighters off but are rewarded by even more by the next day.

I guess it's just a case of you win some you loose some.:rolleyes:Hel.xxx.

Yes I heard that too Carl but I wish they wouldn't eat them all!

I will plant nasturtiums for them next year and hope they will leave my cabbages
    alone :D

My lemon tree was eaten by a Caterpillar a few years ago, I never found him, I only ever saw where he had been .
