A few years ago we had a plant growing on our rockery, although it wasn't necessarily a rockery plant. The garden was left to get untidy and some Ground Elder smothered it and it died off. Now that the garden has ben tidied, we would like to find this plant again and re plant the place where it once was. The only problem is, we never knew it's name and can't find it in any gardening book or garden centre for sale...I would recognise it straight away if I saw it. I can describe it in as much detail as I can and if anyone knows what it is and can post a picture I would be so grateful.
It was planted alongside a plant that use to be called Polygonum Affine 'Donald Lowndes', although I am informed that the name has changed. The plant we are looking for has very similar flowers to the Polygonum but they are just white and the leaves are similar in size and shape but have a slight stripe of varigation on them. The plant itself goes brown in winter and travels along the ground as a runner...the only plant I can say the leaves reminded me of was an indoor Tradescantia. I can't for the life of me remember where my husband bought it from originally but it was probably from a rare plants nursery knowing him. It doesn't grow vey tall and remains as a ground cover. Any help to find the name of this plant would be gratefully appreciated as we have been trying to find it for over a year without success. Many Thanks.

No sorry it's not that one either....if you take a look at my link for Polygonum Affine 'Donald Lowndes' here http://www.plantpress.com/plant-encyclopedia/plantdb.php?plant=4569
it has the same flowers but in white and the leaves are also very similar but darker green and with a light varigation...thanks for all your help.

Thanks, had a look but Persicaria microcephala has different flowers and is taller...the plant we're looking for is lower growing and the leaves are much tougher and thicker.
Thanks, your help is much appreciated.
