hello all, i've liked the look of bonsai trees for many years now but never really done any research but yesterday i bought my first. I was walking round B&Q and just saw it and thought yep i'm getting it !!! Well as per normal i just jumped in at the deep end without doing my research and have since got home with it and read that its probably not the best of places to buy one. So my question is, have any of you good people got any advice on how to look after it, i'm assuming its an indoor tree but i might be wrong so if we could maybe start with trying to work out what it is !! Any useful links about bonsai trees that i could read up on would also be very helpful.

    thanks in advance

Hello charlton and welcome to GC.

I just earlier was speaking to Andy about his Bonsais .....

    http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=15734l

There are also other links up in Other Plants regarding these little gems.

It would be nice if I could see you pictures (only red x) then I may be able to identify it for you.

    I'll check back here later.

PS Trees are 'outdoors' not 'indoors' ...... ;)

    Hi again charlton.

I still can't see your pics but can click on the links to see them .... if you know what I mean .... perhaps a Mod can sort that out for you. I don't know if you know, but you must go through a 'third party', ie Photobucket, Imageshack, tinypic, etc to post here ... you cannot post directly except on Avatars and Profile pics.

My initial observation is that you have a Serissa Seroides. You say you bought it from B&Q .... did it not come with an identity label?

Must now go water/mist mine and also the rest of the garden.

as you can probably see i managed to sort it out in the end, (i don't like getting beaten) ;)

i did buy it from B&Q but it just come with a label saying assorted bonsai, so i'm just assuming they use the same label for a variety of different trees !!!

    thanks for your help !!
