Lovely. Still not made it to Hampshire, but did speak to my Brother about it, looks like there's only the teapot left:(
Be honest with you Ziggy, Nippon did not make Tea Pots. The closest thing to a spouted tanker type object is a tall chocolate pot they made. Not a short squaddy teapot.
We'll thats probably a good thing then, haven't lost so much money. I'll still lob a pic up when I get it though.
A gathering of some of our collection . Hope this works, its in an album on photobucket. http://s526.photobucket.com/user/Redstar030/slideshow/Nippon
wanted to play around with this moving thing. little to fast. but here anyway. got this piece couple years ago. By the way, the yellow--yes is real gold.
Oh my word Redstar.. That is a really beautiful piece.. I just couldn't have anything like that I am toooo clumsy... Do you just collect or do you buy and sell some pieces to keep your collection alive.?
our collection is considered part of our retirement fund. Next year there is an auction we will be taking several pieces to, to unload.
here is my most recent purchase. I was drawn to the colors, and because it can be one of the color pops I am looking for in our new renovated bathroom--not quite done yet. I am thinking floating candles, or smellie something. New bathroom is black and white, with bling. Its original duty is to be a planter, yes, for plants, called a ferner. circa 1900
took a couple of pics yesterday for facebook, thought I'd share here. Both are Nippon from our collection. Pink string just to keep lid on, we will be auctioning that one off this year. should bring a good amount. It is rare. This type is called Nippon Porcelain Coralene.. Back in the storage shelves they go.
