I used to work in a bingo hall-two of them infact. Cascade and Top Rank ( mecca now).

Totally changed my opinion on little old women I can tell you. They`re evil they are.

I still hear the voice in my "two and one............twenty one. Three and two....................32"

I had our Paula when I was 19 years of age, Danny when I was 21 years of age. Would I change things if I could go back?................ There are fors and against. I dont think so . It all comes down to gardening . Depends on the quality of seed. You just have to make the most of what youv've got or really work at it and put some manure down. 02

Lolli, My mate did just that, We both had similar middle of the road GCSE grades eg Bs and Cs.

He was pushed by his parents to stay on has a degree in land managment yet still works on a farm his qulification is next to usless. End of the day a middle of the road degree doesnt dress mutton as lamb it just wastes time.

My parents did try to push me into staying on but i did my own thing, im glad i did and they admit they were wrong.

I could go on with examples, Alternativly just do an agency warehouse shift 80% of the guys under 30 have uni degrees yet they are still working for £6.50 doing shifts order picking.

Why is it that SOME people always assume that anyone who is working for a living has the benefit of a good education, was quite clever at school etc.?
I was utterly useless at school, came from a fairly average working class family which was riddled with ill health and Deafness. ALL of us overcame our disabilities and have always worked. There are simply NO excuses, if you are blessed with good health and average intelligence there is a job out there from which, if you try hard enough, and take a few calculated choices at the right time with a HUGE amount of luck, you might have something better to talk about than bemoaning your lot!
Read my first blurb back, it was not a personal attack. Jan

As opposed to this insulting diatribe?

Jan, this is just as bad, maybe the way you intend it to come across isn`t being communicated by the written word.

Well, land, you can "over and out" as much as you like but you never answered the question of what happens to the kids.l I admire you as being a superior being but you haven't got an answer, have you?:)

Well Cajary I was trying not to be on this topic for the rest of my life!!
Firstly I am not unsympathetic to the cause, and as a once full time working mother, it was always a problem 'what to do with the kids' and there aint no simple answer, but you get by.
You said before about not getting quality jobs etc? Well the huge advantage of 'casual' labour, is that you can pop in and out of it? What about working up to the holidays, jacking it in, and then getting something similar when the kids go back, how about addressing envelopes at home during the summer hols and going fruit picking where the kids can go to? Take in washing and ironing or look after someones pets? Chum up with someone else in the same boat and look after eachothers kids?
There's loads of options and just as many pitfalls, so how about we agree to differ?
There are always 2 sides to every story and scenario's, and it looks like its yours and mine. one thing though, I am not under any illusions of being a superior being, I treat everyone I meet exactly the same. Jan

Can I just say, as someone from a working class family, that I worked in an office for all of my working life(sort of), I do not denigrade people that do work in factories, my parents did pretty much that - worked there I mean. So this government, and before, are bad in that they try to get everyone buying their houses, going to uni etc. We can have lots of clever people but if you (us) didn't have the non-clever people in our country we couldn't have our basics.

I don't care what anyone does, if they do it well. That's the difference. Now if you take away the ' of being out of work everyone will not want to be there. There's the percentage of 'unemployment figures'. I know personally how this has been, I'm talking 30years, so it is getting worse. I agree with the bummers, get them out. Full stop. I know from my little baby how bad things are. A big lad who wants to find work.

    cheers

I believe society(a dirty word for some) must look after the Young,Sick and the Old.
Spongers could easily be identified..it's not rocket science...and there is plenty of work to be done in a Parish to earn benefits for those able to work. And here's a kick..single parenthood should NOT be a passport for accommodation from the council.
Boot camp for the violent crim's..Then the Forces once disciplined.
Under age crim's..Boot camp until of age...ditto above.
Parents of crim's..Fined hard or Boot Camp..ditto above ,in a lot of cases:rolleyes:

Introduce whackings in the home,on the streets and at school for any nasty little gits!...Payment for such justified beatings of course:thumb:

    Stands back for ...'But';)

Pro...I honestly believe it would be of benefit to both sides, and the fear of being on such a journey would kerb the prats 'on the street'.
