Vegetable gardening is all new to me, my first year. I created 46 sq m of 450mm high rasied beds.
Summer crops have been in the main a success.
Potatoes â?? Charlotte & Desire ... great success, same for beetroot, various lettuces, broccoli, sugar snap peas, onions.
Had great crop of Cauliflower, cabbage & tomatoes .. went on 10 day holiday â?? all dead .... caulis & cabbage eaten away by Cabbage white caterpillars to just stalks .... annoying as there was a full crop of 2 dozen of each.
Tomatoes died as kids failed to water them as asked (lesson learned here)

Now looking to put in some winter plants .... I know I can start putting in for Spring cabbage & cauliflower - but would like some winter crops. is it too late to get hold of or plant Winter cabbage & Cauliflowers plants ?
if so where do I get them.
Anything else I can look at putting in now or next month .... (except beans).
    Curly kale for example.
Iam in South Wales, coastal location first Autumn frost is typically mid Nov.

    Welcome to the forum Sargan.
What a shame you lost so much of your crops.
Next month you could plant some garlic and shallots. You can buy them from the supermarket.

Good evening Sargan and welcome to the site. Visit your local garden centre and see if they have plants of spring cabbage, winter cabbage, winter cauliflower and broccoli. While there buy some garlic sets for planting now to crop next summer. You could also sow some Aquadulce broad beans now too.:gnthb:

Brassica plans in garden centres are forced, leggy and very poor and expensive I would ask around your gardening club or local allotment often they will be pleased to give you some. try your local freegle website used to be known as freecycle

maincrop peas can also be sown in pots too
