Someone told me to grow nastursians near my toms and squash, so I hung a basket up with my tumbling toms, close to my veg patch. Last night on inspection I find in crawling with catapillars and aphids, so I quickly removed it.

Did I do right or was that the point? I thought it was to attract bees and such for pollination, but is it to distract the pests from my veg?

P.S. I have no bugs on my veg at all.

You were right and ,yes, that was the point. You use the nastursians as a sacrificial plant to protect the plants you want to keep pest free.

Should I remove the pests and put the nastursians back?

Toms & Squash will be ok alone...Your Nast's will provide you with lovely additions to your salad bowl so keep 'em clear of bugs anyway!....Cabbage Whites are a real pain on mine but I'm happy to share:)
