What have I done wrong? Some of the squash are rescued and were a little yellow and weak but have produced male flowers. My pumpkins are big strong plants and again only male flowers. Can provide pictures if this helps.

Have they just stared flowering? As far as I know all the plants in this family produce male flowers initially, and the female flowers come along a bit later.

Kristen is right, Laura, all Cucurbits produce a glut of male flowers at first. This is to ensure that, when the female flowers are produced they will be easily fertilised.
