I guess that sometime in the past you have been served up with old courgettes, sliced and boiled to almost a mush and that is why you think that you do not like them! Fresh, young courgettes that you have grown yourself are totally different. Lots of recipes have been listed on this site (and others) - give them a taste and I bet that you have an instant conversion!

Don't eat courgettes!!! try a few sliced in a stir fry or added into a tomato pasta sauce or make a variation of cottage pie - sliced lightly fried courgette on the bottom, a layer of savory mince, a layer of mashed sweet potato and cheese on top baked in the oven yum yum!

I think you need to ignore some of the steps on the instruction sheet that you have there - particularly the Dice Peel Crush :D

Homemade ratatouille with everything from the garden?
(P.S. Vegetarians can leave out the rats)

    :)

All right, sorry, I'll get my coat.......

Or slice diagonally to get bigger slices, fry on each side in hot olive oil and butter until they soften a bit, then put a mix of cheddar, feta and a wee bit of finely grated garlic to taste on one side, and put under a hot grill until the cheese melts and just begins to go brown/crispy. Sprinkle on some herbs and black pepper when done........
I once tried this with smoked bacon with the fat removed, and the meat chopped into tiny bits. Fry the fat to release it into the pan, remove the fat "scratchings" , put in the bacon and fry until it's not raw anymore, remove bacon, fry courgette slices adding some olive oil/butter if needed, then add the cheese and bacon topping and carry on as above.
    Yum Yum.
    (this also works with aubergines....)

    cheers,
    Dave

Some fantasic ideas here folks. I usually just steam mine when sliced. I'll certainly try some of these ideas though.

Sorry, but here that would silently go into the compost heap ... I never think they have the same flavour at marrow-size

That is for sure, which is why it goes into a quiche with bacon... that will make up for the bland flavour.
But I just don't throw away food unnecessarily.
