Well, another way. When you dig out Bindweed, Mare's tail, Ground elder, etc. Keep handfuls of the rootings and broadcast them across their garden. That'll catch their attention.

If you feel really upset then the old superglue in the lock if euro style (modern) or expanding foam if mortice style just dont get caught lol.

Im told another classic is to turn on the hose and stick it through the letterbox in the night, this is aparently what happened to the bloke who i watched bang my truck in a carpark then leave without giving his details.

One thing I always do on one of work is a before and after photo, gives evidence that you caried out the work, you dont need a written quote to make a claim for non paymeent.

Worth filling out a small clims court form online, theyl sh** bricks when it arivers through the letterbox.

Those neighbours who you do acrtoss the raod can provide a written statement that you carried out the work-if indeed it gets to court, most people don`t turn up, then its bailiffs, who they don`t pay then its an attachment of earnings rigmarole-and they will take it from any benefits. The law does work it might be excrutiatingly slow but youll get your dosh in the end. I will say one more thing on this coz its up to you really, if all those other people see them get away with not paying-whats stopping them from trying the same thing?

It might be worth thinking about those mice I offered you before-theres more of them every day.

You're right, you do sound very bad. But also you're wrong, English people can be soddy too. The tenants I have taken to court have all been English, apart from the marijuana farmers, not for paying rent-never had any trouble from them for that, the 'leccy board couldn`t get in to read the meter.
