It didnt take me to photo bucket, flicker etc thats what we are used to on here. Nothing complicated. Thats the way we are here. We like the simple life on GC, not to say we are simple minded by any means.A lot of highly educated peeps on here. Friendly and compassionate and i wouldnt change it for the world. 02

O2-I have to agree with you. Sometimes it`s not clever to be clever.

The post of yours I quote here is number 234363, which probably means that there have been getting on for a quarter of a million posts made on this site since it started. I'm not being deliberately obtuse but I can't believe that in all of those there isn't one link to a file, e.g. PDF versions of supplier catalogues or manufacturer's instructions etc?

You say "nothing complicated", but what's complicated about this, for example:

    http://www.eurodahlia.com/CATALOG08v2.pdf

    ?

You click on it, and it opens....

That's not a good idea M. This can lead you wide open to a virus or trojan....always best to save to disk so you can scan it before opening it.

I'm always suspicious...and no, I ain't paranoid of links that ask you to open or save, without the OP saying that is going to happen.

It is accepted as good netiquette to warn people first so that they have a choice whether to click or not to click.

If you re-open your posting, you will see at the bottom right a choice to edit or delete it.

FGS - it's a Windows Media Video file - what do you think is going to happen?

As I see it, one of two things:

    1) It really is what it appears to be, i.e. a .wmv file, and the default media player of your choice will open it and play it.

    2) It's something nefarious, in which case if that's my aim I'm not likely to tell you the truth, am I?

If you're suspicious of links that ask you to open or save then you are suspicious of every single link on the internet, because when you click on one there are only two things that can happen - they are either opened by an application running on your PC or they are saved to your hard drive.

If you click on a link and you don't get asked what you want to do it's because you've already decided that you want to open it without being asked to confirm.

Never heard such nonsense - it's a link to a file which you can open or download. There are situations where it would be good to warn people about the content, e.g. NSFW, but unless you've got a hitherto unknown phobia of model aircraft there's nothing in the content of that file that you need to be warned about, so what warning do you think you need?

It shows up in your browser window as a hyperlink - it has the syntax of a Uniform Resource Locator, specifically one that uses HyperText Transfer Protocol - it is underlined and it is a different colour - when you run the cursor over it the pointer changes - it has an extension of a known Windows file type. How may clues do you need to realise what will happen when you instruct your browser to simply open it by left-clicking?

b-a-s I can't see a problem with your link, it worked just fine for me - I'm not sure what tweaks is on about - take no notice. Anyway it was a really good video, I liked it.

The B52 crash is spooky - as they say it fell out of the sky in exactly the same way a real one did. I guess the modeller can try and salvage some scant satisfaction that he did such an accurate job with his model that he gave it the same aerodynamic flaw as the real thing....
