I have gotta agree with the others Adam your veg plants are looking great. I was just wondering if you grow other herbs as well as your Basil?

Home grown sweet mint is quite lovely with new potatoes although it's best grown in a pot or a bucket in the ground as the roots go everywhere and chives in a cheese sandwich is to die for very easy to grow and great for a border edge too.Hel.xxx.

Hi Adam. You said about growing climbing french beans, and I noticed that you are growing runners. One thing to bear in mind is that you will need to consider light availability to the rest of your crops. Also, i`m pretty sure that dwarf f/beans come to maturity a bit quicker than climbers. Just something to consider. Cheers...freddy.

Weve just eaten the second lot of french beans and we prefer them to runners so next year i will be doing 3 wig-wams of french beans :)

Bit of a disaster has occoured...

Pretty much all the leaves on all the veggies look likr emental cheese! Loads of these little flies flew off when i picked some salad earlier.

Any idea what they are and more importantly... How to kill them!

    Hi Adam,

Considering how well everything else is growing I reckon you could take your pic-but fruit always goes down well, its just about the only food I do grow and its a good excuse not to weed the brambles back.

Well done-the advert is still doing its job.

:thumb:Well done Adam!Looks kike you definitely have green fingers (and a strong back).
All the folk at our gardens are praising these black bags in which to grow spuds.Saves loads on space, no digging-you just empty the bag at around 12 weeks and you have about a dozen spuds!I havn`t tried them myself but will get a bit more info and post.I think they`ve mostly been tried with earlies and the spuds i`ve been shown are perfect.

I was at work yesterday and had to go into the shop for produce to cook with.I`m not clued up on french beans ( don`t grow `em) but i was shocked to find they were priced at £6.90 a kilo!
