This is a view from the top end of my little plot of the shared allotment.

And the view from the bottom end where the shed is.

This is the part I've started on, it wasn't nearly so overgrown as the other part, these are potatoes that were already growing so I've kind of weeded and dug around them, thought I might as well see if I get anything off them.

I've borrowed a petrol strimmer from my brother in law going to strim the long bits down then set to digging and weeding the rest of it. Lots of work to do, but looking forward to it.

Even a couple of hours work reaps big benefits, me and the dog go down there, he potters around, and he even did a little bit of digging himself.

Hopefully once my little seedlings are a bit stronger I'll be able to get them planted out, got to get some netting so I don't have to share with the rabbits.

As things progress I'll post more pics. Its only a little plot, half of a small allotment, one day i'll get round to measuring it, I'm no good with estimating sizes. I'm pleased its only small though, if it was huge and a full allotment I might get intimidated!

thats a thought, I'll take the strimmer up any way and have a go with just my hands but have it as back up just in case. That said I'm not very good at getting it to start......

Fork up or at worst cut down those docks and burn them before the seed drops.

Hi Kerry I don't think it will take too long for you to sort out your plot.... little and often and it will soon be weed free.

Do the hard work right in the begining i.e. getting rid of all those roots etc. and it will save you no end of work later. The guys on our plots that used machinery to clear their lots have to keep redoing their whole lots as the weeds just return ten-fold so what might appear an easy and quick job to start off with isn't in the long run!Hel.xxx.
