I just caught the last 15 minutes of the (repeat) of the selection for the final 20. I haven't watched much of the series (almost nothing) but saw that a group of six men called Calypso Tumblers have got through. :thumb:

I didn't know they were in the competition but I saw them perform in the street in New Orleans and they were fantastic. They did acrobatics and tumbling and were also very funny with their messing around and joking. They involved the crowd in their work and also took the p*ss out of the crowd - a lot :D. They were great fun and performed for over an hour.

I don't know whether they will get much further on the programme because I haven't seen the other acts but I would like to just give them a cheer.

Well done chaps :thumb: :thumb: :D :D

I took lots of photos of them and a few came out OK.

    Here are a couple.

    A pretty good balancing act

In the background you can see part of a group of people from the crowd that they got involved in the act.

Here is one of them doing a back flip over six people!

The sixth one is a little girl on the right hand end. :)

We went to New Orleans about 15 months after hurricane Katrina so see how they were getting on and to give them some support. We saw a lot of the devastation and how badly the authorities had dealt with it.

What was also sad was that not a lot of Americans, or foreigners, had been back since Katrina so although the locals were trying hard to get things going again they weren't getting the support from tourism. Quite often whilst we were there the locals would thank us for coming and shake our hands.

This photo is quite typical of the what the locals thought of the government and the local government.

Wow Shiney - that first picture is amazing! there are some fantastic street artists out there! My son and I spend a day every summer watching all the street theatre in Edinburgh - really entertaining!

Haven't seen any of America's got Talent either, hope your troupe get on well!

Sounds like a really interesting trip to New Orleans.
