I just thought it would be interesting if people could post what there most hated plant is in there opinion for instance mine would have to be Berberis thunbergii, particularly the red cultivar below (or similar).

The local council near where i live seem to love it and tend to plant it outside of every public toilet within a ten mile radius:( to me it seems to always be sprawling or woody and most often both and also it sometimes has a creamy kind of variegation on the leaves which makes me think that a particularly ill pigeon decided to poop all over it:p

That berberis looks quite stunning in your pic, but having been lacerated by one in a previous garden, I share your view - though there must be worse.

Leylandii hedging has to be near the top of the list - I know it makes a stunning specimen in the right setting (a large arboretum!), and provides nest sites for some birds, and roosts for others, but there are native species that provide a whole lot more, and create less hassle for neighbours! (I don't have it near me personally though know folk who do. Well maintained I daresay it may be worthy for a fast result, but the downsides far outweigh the ups.)

I have a thing about euphorbias - I'm not keen on green flowers to begin with and I just find they remind me of staring bug eyes on stalks! Sorry to anyone who loves 'em! And I agree with JarBax, Leylandiis have got to go!

Coa-rse red and pink roses (all the scarlets and magentas). And pelargoniums in the same colours. These must be the worse things ever happened to our gardens and landscapes. I apologize to those who like them but I think they should outlawed.

i have a love hate relationship with nasturtiums. I love their flowers and trailing habit, but i hate the way they invade a border, and overun hanging baskets and pots, making other plants hidden. Next year i shall plant one per pot instaed of 3!!! can you get bush, or less vigorously growing varietys???

    thanks

I tend to take a dislike to plants used in municipal/commercial gardens. Which is a shame as they are always the easy to look after things!

I love/love nasturtiums! But then, I don't grow them in baskets - I like them to grow up other plants and trellis etc.

Anyway, I am certain I have seen 'dwarf' varieties sold as seed, and some suitable for baskets etc too.:)

i Have to agree with you about maybe the mop head hydrangeas but some of the newer cultivars are extraordinarily pretty:)
