The one on the left is mine, the one on the right is my dads, he sometimes comes to stay with us but he's a bit camera shy  The dog that is, not my dad!

Thanks Walnut, sorry about your dog............ he's daft as brush, my dad calls him the alsation (sp?) that shrunk in the wash! lol

Hi Kath, my dogs name is Holly and my dads dog is called Rex.
Holly was a rescue from a centre near where i live, she's a gem, 9 years old now, fantastic with my kids and people, how anyone could have mistreated her, i'll never know. :(

Rouxbee this was a portrait we had done off photos of Jasmine by a brilliant artist called Mary Herbert.

Thanks Rube - it is always nice to put a name to a furry face!

How can you possibly keep that cream carpet looking so lovely with paws galore on it??!!

Walnut - that is an excellent portrait - I had to look really close because I thought you had posted a photograph of Jasmine!

How lovely they are ruby. You're right about your dad's dog, he seems to be saying 'oh, not again!':)

How old was Holly when you got her? It is very sad how people can abuse their animals. Tell us her story if you know it. Would love to hear it especially as she is 9 years old now.

Walnut, flipping heck, I had to look twice! What a fantastic picture. I'm sorry to hear Jasmine is no longer with us & I hope the picture comforts you in some way. I would love to have a pic done of Joyce too. That eye expression is amazing, is that what she used to look like when she was waiting for something? A walk, a treat etc - looks like she was good fun, but very loyal too.

    cheers

Borrowers we have had dogs and pets all our life Jasmine was a rescue dog and was very special one of the most intelligent dogs I have know a beautiful nature she didn't need any special training tell her to do something once and that was it,unfortunately at the age of seven she contracted a type of lukaemia and died under anaesthetic I was gutted to say the least, she is resting in the garden now surrounded by tree peonies. Thanks for your kind words.

    Thanks for the comments :)

Kath - I had to invest in a carpet cleaning machine, even trying to make sure the dogs paws are dry doesn't always work, BIIIGGGGGG mistake getting cream, never mind lesson learned :D:D:D

Borrowers - Holly was around 2 when we got her, i dont really know her story, she was found abandoned. a quivering wreck, very nervous around people ect she's a totally different dog now, loves kids, even the postman!!....when we went to the rescue centre it was really a puppy we were looking for but i saw her and my heart just melted, she's the best dog i've ever owned, an absolute gem :)

Ruby, cream carpet - oh,oh! We have a carpet cleaner too, lol.

What a sad story about Holly. What is it about rescue dogs that make them so special? It's a lovely feeling to know that you've given her a great life though, isn't it? Our Joyce was nearly the same. Hubby got me her as a wedding present, I went looking for a lap type dog although not a puppy. There she was - this collie cross with the most gorgeous face & playful nature, aged about 6 mths to a year. Way too big for a lap dog, lol. She's around 13 yrs now and showing her age. The best natured dog I've ever known. Spoilt rotten of course:)

    cheers
