    Hi,
I rescued this from a customer's house today, she said it was "dead"
(along with 2 Begonias which will be going to live with my Mother-In-Law)

The label on the pot said 'Yucca glor variegata', but I'm not convinced. I thought it was a Cordyline? Although having never owned either should I just trust the label?

I doesn't have a 'trunk' as such, rather an area where the dead leaves were.

If it's any further help - when I repotted it I realised it had these 'nodules' :

    Any help apreciated,:)

:( pants. Can anyone tell me why my pictures haven't worked?

I read through all of Daisees instructions in the 'How To..' thread, what have I missed?? :(

    Well, I've replaced the red X with a link, so I'm half-way there! :o

Beki, I think something might have gone wrong during the upload to PB.
    Have another go.

Ok, cheers Pete and Ivory, that'll teach me for being sceptical! :D

I really like the pink in the leaves. This one is a tiny baby compared to those pictures :p

Should it be treated as a house plant? Or protected outdoors?

    Regards, Beki x

I think Yucca gloriosa is hardy, but wait for wiser opinions to stay on the safe side.

Well gloriosa varigata as far as I know, does not have the pink on the leaves.
But I have an idea I've seen this one somewhere.

My guess is its more or less totally hardy in the UK, but needs a good sunny site with well drained soil, to do well.

Apparentlyit gets pinkish in cool weather:

"Another that I have grown for a number of years and that has proven outstanding is Yucca gloriosa 'Variegata'. The leaves of this beautiful plant are blue-green with a lovely gold margin that changes to a light, creamy yellow during the summer months. In winter, it too takes on shades of pink around its edges when the weather turns cold."

    Found this in this blog:

i would go along with Yucca, there are a lot of variegated Cordylines but as far as I know not with pink in the leaf yet, (plant breeders may change that).
