We jammin

    If anyone is interested just harvested some blackcurrents just took off the ripe ones got 1 kg off 3 bushes seen as i have loads of rhubarb i added 1/2 kg of rhubarb and 1kg of jammin suger .
    Tried it today and it tastes great .
    just hope it dont make me too regular

    Ripe blackcurrants........in Hull! Do you live near a nuclear power plant. I'm in the South West and my blackcurrants are still small and green. What's your secret?

    It never gets too cold here compaired with other places becouse of the river hull we seem to get mild ish winters but we are never quite as warm in summer compaired to towns near by.
    They are planted in a bolt south facing spot with two cars behind them and pavers all the way round can only think its the heat stored in the pavers and from the car bonnets ,saying that i only picked about 1/4 of the berrys the rest are very small but i aint got any green ones they are all red ,we deserve a good harvest round here this year after the wash out last year so just keeping fingers crossed we have a good un.
