How are yours doing? Mine look pathetic with one or 2 pods per plant. Although I have 4 rows it looks like I'll only get 4 meals from them - and that if I don't share!

I am trying to grow peas in containers by a south facing wall this year but I'm not sure how much to water them. I have a tendency to over water things:o
They don't have any pods yet:(

I'm getting very poor results this year. Started my peas indoors in loo roll centres. 100% germination and developed into strong plants. Planted them out, all did well for about 2 weeks but now all straggly and weak with a few token flowers. The plants don't seem to want to climb and are dying off at ground level. I got reasonable results in this bed last year so don't know what is going wrong .

I think mine are failing too, up until a couple of weeks ago i had healthy looking plants, now the bottom leaves are really badly yellowing, and they seemed to have slowed down, no flowering and just not looking well at all , i think they might be a goner, something i've probably done wrong, as it's my first year growing anything edible i'm not too disheartened, whatever it is, it's all experience, i will post a pic tomorrow.

Mine are doing OK they're about 6 foot tall and are covered with lovely purple pods and pink flowers.

I like the purple varieties as they look so pretty and seem to cope well with a bit of frost so you can plant out earlier.....In fact I've been eating them for a couple of weeks now!!

On the downside the damn slugs have eaten all my potatoes.....grrrrr!

Ours are about 4 feet tall but very straggly and not many flowers as yet I think it is just the lack of warm weather we have had, well that's what I am hoping and maybe they will improve?

Mine are doing the same, though we have had the warm weather, perhaps we haven't had enough water. A surfeit of water did them in last year :)

I couldn't remember if surfeit meant not enough or two much for a minute there. Then I remembered the weather we had last summer and I worked it out. :)

My peas are also doing very well. I used klevedon wonder. Sowed them direct into the ground on 3rd April. They are approximately 4 ft high and have loads of pods. I have watered them once a week , because in the north west we have hardly had any rain (except yesterday when it threw it down all day).
They should be ready for harvesting in 10 - 14 days i reckon.

Here's the pic of my peas i said i would post, it would have been sooner, if there hadn't been a diy mishap involving the telephone cable, therefore no internet, back up and running now! :o

Any ideas what's gone wrong, this is slowly creapping up the plants.

I've had a bumper crop of "mange touts" but my "garden peas" have produced very little.

The runner beans are doing very poorly too!

All my garden peas have now failed completely. The adjacent broad beans are storming!

As I love the taste of freshly picked peas I have started some in pots. Probably far too late, but worth a shot!
