Oh eck. That sounds like a lot to pay, I wouldn't have paid that ridiculous price in the first place.

Ok, Is it English or French Lavender? I have never heard of 'West advanced plus compost'. Is it a potting or cutting or whatever compost? Is it a general compost or an acid or alkaline one, etc.

When you say she has potted them, do you mean re-potted them?

      Hi tweaky
From what she said they were on offer and came direct from a lavender farm came in plastic cartons so she re-potted them , she followed the instruction , but she will be phoning them in the morning .
The compost is Westland compost for all plants and brought from costco , I think you can tell we are green ( not )

complain  some firms think they can send anything because you are not seeing it before you buy and if you don`t complain they will keep doing it ,
i think the compost is the one they advertise on one of the sky channels (living i think) with the dancing worm ;)

The problem my not be with the supplier but with watering. When those plants arrive in plastic packaging, they get very high humidity, something lavender is not too fond of. Potting them up in a 50/50 mixture of compost and vermiculite with a little drink and then leaving them to recover is the best bet.

I would suggest that you contact the supplier to advise of the problem, and see if they will send replacements. In the meantime, tell your daughter to stop watering them and let them dry out - keep them in a sunny place close to the house wall where they won't get caught in the deluges we are getting. They may yet recover, and if they do, you will see little spikes of grey leaves forming on what look like dead stems.

Have to agree with Tweaky that they seem very pricey but then again I do like a good bargain so anything over a couple of pounds and I just don't want to know.:D

Anyway it would be worth while getting in touch with the supplier as stated if it's a good firm and the plants are on their way out you should get sent some replacements.

If it's English Lavender they should be tough as old boots even Bob finds it hard to kill that! Maybe it's the shock of travelling and all they need is a little attention to pick up after their trip, do as Fran says and all sure be fine.Hel.xxx.

Phone up the suppliers. Even if they aren't willing to send you replacements they might have some ideas on how to sort them out. That's got to be easier for them than you demanding they send more.
