Woo - was that a primary drive or a secondary one? And if it was a primary drive what operating system are you using. I still have an old Window 98 machine, which was about the last where you could install the operating system as many times as you liked on a primary drive without involving Microsoft. But my new m/c has windows XP, and if I want to install a new primary drive I understand I need to get Microsoft's permission, but I am not sure exactly what that involves as I haven't done it so far.

I have the complete freedom to do what I like, change any drives, plug in extras etc. Ubuntu doesn't require you to get permission from anyone, it's all open source and free to use.

There is an awful lot to be said for Linux Larkshall - if only to break Bill Gates monopoly. The trouble is one of critical mass. When enough people use it all the software, games, utilities etc will be available, but unfortunately they are mostly on Windows.

I am looking foreward to a Windows box in Linux, like the DOS box in Windows.
