How did your garden fair in the winds these past few days? I was quite worried about mine yesterday as it got buffeted all over the place! Fortunately only a few plants got brocken and I had to re-tie the potato vine. We lost a bit of guttering though.

My young laburnum tree was at a 45 degree angle to the road this morning - fortunately no snapping, just minor uprooting so a good staking should do it. Fortunately my little 'put me up' greenhouse stayed standing otherwise I'd have had Walnut to answer to! :o

i bought 2 acers a few weeks ago a red one and one with red on the edge of the leaves, that one is fine but the red one has frayed edges to all its leaves, none of the branches are broken so i think they should recover, i had placed them with their backs to the wall and along side the fence, facing east,as i read they dont like wind, which is unfortunate as i wanted to put them out front, facing west but here in margam its windy most days,

I had a young hellebore that struggled last year, had just started to put out new leaves and the whole thing broke off from the roots! Boo hoo! Will stick it in the ground and hope it thinks it's a cutting... We have a wind turbine so there are some benefits from all this wind...!
