I realised this afternoon on my after-work-garden-stroll that I have a fair few tulips this year! Took me a while to remember that I bought a few through a fundraising catalogue, I am thrilled as had forgotton that I planted them!

There are the 'ordinary' red and yellow tulips that I inherited with the garden:

They are the first out, and may be 'common', but they are really lovely and bright and cheery! (Note the 'Queen of the Night' in the background of second pic.)

I love the contrast between these orange ones and my fresh hamamellis (witch hazel) leaves:

A friend gave me these as bulbs a few years ago:

and these were from the school fundraiser:

...I think these could be may favorites...

This in a variety pot planted as a christmas pressie from a friend!:

    and in the same pot:

This is a little one I planted in a pot a couple of years ago, and is very sweet:

My son chose these ones about five years ago - they are still going strong, with no help from me!:

A later 'parrot' type, which is absolutely gorgeous (and not bad as an immature bud either!):

I think I coulnted 13 different tulips altogether. Shame I have only remembered the name of one - or two at best!!! Does anyone else have a good show this year (please add pics)!

I am jealous of you both , the tulips I brought from the old house and replanted in my new garden have put on a very poor show

What a shame daisyD - though at least you will get a show for longer! Will be interesting to see how dark the 'black' ones come through - be sure to post a pic!

No idea sorry 02! I think they may have come in a present box from M&S, but I didn't save the name, so it descends into the growing collection of nameless plants in my garden I'm afraid! Maybe someone else will have an idea?

Gorgeous tulip Antheus! I love pink flowers, and this is a real blousey one too. Never thought I'dve said that a few years ago! Like you, I didn't really rate them, but getting that catalogue last year has prompted me to plant more bulbs - they are so easy - pop them in, and wait to see the show!

Hope yours will be better next year pip - maybe they're just storing up their energies for a spectacular show next year, after their recent move?

    Anyone with any more?

All lovely photos, but I had to comment on Rosies above - the brilliant orange against the green fence - a real head turner. Beautiful.

And YD Dee - I get greener and greener with envy at your lovely garden - that tortoise is JAZZY!

JarBax and Losty - beautiful photos!
