    Hello all,

I have a lawn 96 sq. metres and i am thinking of replacing it.

I understand i should skim off 2 inches or so from the exsisting lawn then cover with topsoil. I am unsure how much topsoil i should be looking to buy and also how deep it should lay.

    Any information would be handy.

    Thanks, James.

No need to skim it off.

Spray the grass youve got with roundup leave 3 weeks until all dead then run a wheeled cultivaterove overr. Rake out stones and dead grass etc then seed or turf.

So i wont need topsoil or sharp sand?

I thought it was a bad idea to turf over exsisting turf as it may not root properly, leaving bald patches?

    Thanks very much.
