Hi new here,I have a problem that I am not sure which way to tackle,I have a very patchy lawn and last year spent a small fortune on seed but it never really did the trick,I have been thinking of rotorvating it all in and turfing,my question is am I best to take off the existing turf then rotorvate or just rotorvate everything in together, and can I get the soil small enough by rotorvating and then be ready for turf....thanks...Allan

Hi Allan and welcome to the site. Do you, by any chance have a dog? I ask this, because we need to find out why your lawn is patchy, before you spend more money on it.

Hi David and thank you,yes we do have a very large German Shepard, and to explain last year when we moved to this address we had the lawn turfed and our big foot turned it into a quaqmire in no time at all along with the urine stains it was a right mess, anyway we have bought some more land now and he is banned from our garden hence the need to re-turf.
    hope this explains..thank you..Allan
