WOW !! What a great lot of photos to choose from this month ââ?¬â?? I already have FOUR favourites.

Dizi ââ?¬â?? I think you have captured exactly what the theme is all about. Perfect. [IMG]

WOO ââ?¬â?? thank you for your kind comments but if it wasnââ?¬â?¢t for the fact that I have been housebound for 3 weeks because I have a little illness which does that to me sometimes, I would never had got my head around my PSP. I treated myself to an updated PSP9 on Ebay and have just been messing most days. I looked at Daveââ?¬â?¢s bubble and it was incredible. With the PSP now you hardly need a photo to start with!

Im wondering whether someone like Dave would be interested in setting up a little master class with, say, one project a month which we could all do together (those that wanted to that is). It would be a great way to learn new techniques and get our heads around our software, but it would need an expert like Dave to teach us. No competing though as we already have the competition to keep us busy.

    Wadja fink Dave

Cant wait to see your entry Marge.

I already have some I shall vote for though it will be hard because they are all good so far in their own way though some have got the edge over others

Thank you kryssy and kandyfloss, for your very kind comments. [IMG]

Kryssy I am learning PSP too, I used to know all the features years ago but had lost touch with it, I was struggling along with v5 which is very basic, so I have treated myself to the latest version and this comp is great way to learn the features, however I think I am missing some tricks such as the best way of selecting things etc so if Dave (and anyone else) is interested... ;)

Thank you Rosa. I appreciate your comments, especially as you are such a gifted lady. [IMG]

I was actually about to post a quite different picture when Alfie came in with his ball and did his ââ?¬Å?Why wonââ?¬â?¢t you play with meââ?¬Â look. So, I started again and ended up with something completely different.

I like Marley Farleyââ?¬â?¢s picture as it shows how dogs should be ââ?¬â?? full of fun and mischief. It makes me smile to look at it. ;)

There is such a lot of diverse work this month it is going to be difficult to choose who to vote for. My favourites list has now gone up to FIVE!!

Sorry for delayed response, but have been away from home this past week. What a super collection of photos have appeared since I last looked!! So many different interpretations of the theme and some very clever, effective and well executed techniques. Judging is going to be a real headache!

As to your suggestion Kryssy; I'm no "expert" on PSP - I just faff about with it.Thanks for the compliment anyway. I'm flattered. I used to use Adobe Photoshop years ago on an Apple Mac, but it's over-priced and over-blown for my needs now so have moved to PSP and Photoshop Elements which are perfectly good enough for my needs.
Even if I did have the expertise to run a tutorial, I'm away from home quite a lot Spring to Autumn and couldn't sustain a reasonable level of input.
I'd certainly be in favour of a tutorial group. I think there may have been one on the go in "Photography Discussion" or "Members Hobbies" some time ago.

    Hi Dave,
Oh, I'm sorry about the tutorial but do understand it would be difficult for you. However, you should not underestimate your talent!!! :D

I've been trying the Photoshop Elements on a 30 day trial but don't seem to get my head around some of it. I think I'll stick to PSP. It may not have all the features of P.E. but you don't need a university degree to understand it. [IMG]

I think the thread you mentioned on Hobbies dried up suddenly for some reason or other. Perhaps someone with a bit of skill would start it up again just to teach some of us who are keen to learn more. I hope so. Dizi and I would be willing pupils [IMG]

Perhaps you could just give a tip or two when you submit your entries - as you did with the bubble this month - that was useful. [IMG]

Thanks Kryssy - the background took me ages to fathom out, following instructions - then I had a go myself and did it! Think I was bogged down with jargon  ;)

Great idea about the tutorial thread - how about we start one and if anyone wants to know how we did something, we can ask and if we discover something, we can put it up? We could put up bits of work in progress if we're stuck too? Theres a lot of talented peeps on here and also, some use PSP and some PS, so praps we could pool our resourses? [IMG]

    Great idea Marge.

Perhaps we could put a "Wanted" ad on somewhere. With over 3,000 members there must be someone who would be willing to help us out. I think it would be best if someone gave us guided projects so that we can be taught how to find our way around our software. What do you think?? We can mess around ourselves from now till doomsday but there's always someone who knows little tricks and shortcuts which makes life so much easier.

If no one wants to take it on them perhaps we can start something and see how it goes.

Getting back to the subject - there are some exceptional pictures this month. It was obviously an inspiring topic Marge. Well done everyone. [IMG]

It would be interesting to know what programes most people are using (if any) There are so many that it is difficult to tailor something which could be applied by everybody.
Given the ridiculous price of Photoshop (twice as much as the cost to USA customers) I'm inclined to suggest basing any tutorials on one of the free downloadable programmes like The Gimp (Gnu image manipulation programme)

I just use Photoshop and sometimes PSP - I did a short course so thats why I stick to PS. I have tried some others but always go back to it!! But when I look at the 'Photoshop fo Photographers' book I realise I havent even scratched the surface! I go in fits and starts to be honest, I will go for a while without doing anything and then have the urge to dabble!!
I would be more than happy to help out but am certainly not knowledgable on the subject [IMG]
