Clarification please Marley, I read Gemstones and Jewels as being actual jewellry as worn, rings, necklaces, bracelets etc, not floral gems.
Being comparatively new here I would appreciate some guidance on the interpretation.
Sorry to be a "grumpy old fart", but I'd rather know what's what.

Mike, I chose the subject and said ...

"Gemstones and Jewels. They come in every colour imaginable as do flowers and leaves so let's get some colour into June ... lots of it."

Note the "as do flowers and leaves" ...

    Marley stated ...

"This should certainly give us all a chance to use our imaginative photographic skills to the full with a broad theme like that."

    Yes, you can include flowers.

    :D Hi Mike,
Not a grumpy old fart at all.... :D As you say you are new to this. As LoL said,

If you feel like looking back through any of the old comps you will see we all interpret the themes in our own ways... We all try to cover them as broadley & imaginatively as we can, keeping within the limits of the rules. Unless it is a very specific title.. [IMG]

Then of course, we are after all, a gardening site & most of us end up bringing plants & wildlife in as often as is poss I think... [IMG] Entirely up to you, whatver is your inspiration really. [IMG] :D

I wish you luck withyour entries... :D

Oh, roders, dearest ... I just love the poppy field. [IMG] They have got to be the single most stunning wildflower. Sometimes I see the orange orchards carpeted in them and it's wonderful.
