Does anyone recommend a supplier? Suttons and some of the other well-known companies seem a bit pricey to me. Maybe I'm naive.

    Hi Liz
listen to ziggy!!, supermarket garlic is fine, check the bulbs are firm and they'll do ok,
separate the cloves and plant them individually.

In my local market they usually sell almost 1 1/2 lb of garlic for £1. Now that sounds like a plan.

    Cheers Pete,

Liz, like Pete said, make sure they are sound & just to be on the safe side dip em in fungicide, you don't want to risk onion white rot. Plant in october/nov & harvest as the tops start to yellow.

I had 70 cloves to replant in year 2, after that it just went hyperbolic.

If you ate in a somerset pub near crewkerne in the early nineties, chances are you've eaten my garlic.
