January Photo Competition 2006 !!!!

Wow that's a great theme - camera at the ready.....

 

That's to get you all started. This is in case i get caught short whilst in the garden.

 

A bit naughty in that this is a composite shot.
We dug up a pig trough. We moved it to a new site and turned it into a feature. It has now been planted up.

 

This looks better in summer when the water fern is green, but it is an old white bath, removed when we renovated the bathroom, painted black and sunk in the ground.....so recycled and saved from adding to landfill and now a frog has taken up residence as well

 

I think it's going to be fun this month. Here's my first offering. My old bike bought for �£1 from an old man down the lane. It was rideable but I thought it would look good in the border with flowers in the basket and far cheaper than some of the wonderful features seen in the garden centres.

I like robbsy1s "bog garden" :D Do you think a Gunnera would go in there?

A new slant on the Bog Garden idea and a good way to recycle your old sanitary ware. When my son moved he found an old tin bath in the shed which I salvaged for my garden. It contains my herb garden now and my son's sorry he let it go.
This ugly face is the fountain which flows into my pond. I love the way it has become covered in moss so the features are lost.

When I saw Robbsy's first one it rung a bell, I knew I had something similar lurking where I keep my pots.

That's really novel Steve - I haven't seen one of those before. I wonder if the colour will put them off?
I like Pete's gosunder - it reminded me that I've got a couple of undecorated pots in the shed. I'll have to paint them up, plant them up and put in the greenhouse as pretty features.
