I'm very sadden to find out that our local council in their wisdom have cancelled any green bin collections until next year.

Now I don't know about you but we as a household recycle more than what goes into the normal 'black bin' and it's going to be very hard as I can't bring myself to put 'stuff' in the black bin that should go in the green bin...if you know what I mean.

It all seems very silly to me after all the government keeps telling us we should recycle more yet at the same time says it doesn't matter at christmas when there is so much more to recycle at this time!

    Helen,

Couldn't agree more doll, they say one thing and do another and then there's the thoughtful crowd like us on here that recycle and they can't be asked, makes me wanna spit

Count yourselves lucky! The only collection we get is for paper, and that is fortnightly! [IMG]

This doesn't mean that you have to stop recycling, just that you either have to take it to the tip yourselves for sorting, or hold onto it until the next collection. [IMG]

    Bit poor all the same!

We should all start a rebellion, dump our recycle stuff on the local council offices doorstep with an angelic smile [IMG] [IMG]

I really don't have a problem going to our local recycling centre Jarbax as I go there at least a couple of times a month to take all our plastic 'gear' which we seem to have loads of for recycling.

The problem is that I hate going at this time of year as the queues are absolutely horrendous you could easily be stuck in the traffic for a hour or so just to off load your stuff.

I wouldn't mind but 'us' greenies don't get a discount because we recycle more than others do I'm sure if that was the case then there would be far more of 'us' knocking around.

Paula I'm with you girl nothing like a 'dump' of some good honest green stuff dumped on the councils door step although to be honest it really should be manure we dump (but the fresh stuff if you get my meaning!) after all that's what 'they' the government/councils talk like most of the time! :D

Walnut I would love to bag the 'stuff' up and leave it all until the New Year but poor Bob hates 'mess' so it looks like hello queues down at the local skips!

Maybe I could be cheeky and make a 'Sorry closed' sign on the road leading down to the skips.....oh the bliss of having a quick pull in and drop trip would be wonderful! :D
