I would like some tips on compost making.
I know that all waste matter is put in a heap, but it seems to take forever to rot down. Is there anything I can do to speed up the process?.

:D Yes, it is a wonderful site nixonf23 and very addictive! I hate to think how many hours I have spent on it since I discovered it last May. Our webmaster Nathan does a really good job for us. Did you know that it helps with the running cost of the site if you click on the adverts at the top of the page and/or use the google bar at the bottom of the page, so we all try to click a few times every time we log on. Have fun! [IMG]

Thanks for the info! Maybe it should be displayed somewhere really prominent, so we all know about it? I'll certainly do it a lot now I know.

Can't see any google ads either. And have to admit to not looking for them before now. When and if I see them I'll click if it helps support this super site.

    Two basic solutions to composting.
    1. A balanced heap. (Green/Brown)
    2. Get worms on the case.

Dave - hate to commnet upon a signature but "The answer lies in the soil" was originally used by Bernard Miles a long time before rambling Sid Rumbold hit the airwaves!!

(Tch tch, MD you're being picky!!!!!!!!)

But please, please tell me what that creature is in your avatar - I can't quite see and it's driving me potty!

MD - The creature is Henry a young hedgehog who appeared in the garden last year.

Gosh Bernard Miles eh. I can just remember seeing him on TV. But Rambling Sid's "The Answer Lies in the Soil" has stuck in my mind for years (and years and...)
