Never made a compost bin before. Can anyone give me advice of where to start and what I will need.
Do I need to buy one or can we make one which will be cheaper. Thanks Grandchild4

    Hi Grandchild4

I bought mine at the local Garden centre, mine is working really well and I have never made compost before.
It will be worth contacting your local council as most are keen to promote you using waste and not putting it in the bin, I bought a black plastic bin for about £6 and a free smaller container to put the bits in from the kitchen.
Like I said it works great costs very little and is good for the environment, just one word of warning do not put any cooked foods in as this will smell awful and also attract Rodents.

    Good luck

    Dave

We have about 7 compost heaps - Martin made them out of planks of wood, as the compost rots and heap gets smaller, we take planks away and start another one, so its always ano ongoing prosess.
