There's nothing better than to have a good laugh while eating some home grown comfort food, my favourite is minestrone soup with grated cheese on top. I adore cabbage especially spring greens yum yum [IMG] . Simba loves to eat and together we can munch through some food. Our best time was when we were given fresh peas, we ate the whole lot and simba got exercise at the same time chasing the peas about the floor as i popped them open hehe [IMG] Tess

    Hiya Tess,

    So you have a Husky!

I train dog's so if you need any advice or want to dog chat be my guest.

Have 4 dogs of my own, 2 GSD's and 2 Rottweilers (all affable chaps, the youngest Rottie, Arnie is a bit thick but then again he spends all his time looking gorgeous [IMG] )

I also have a rather fat cat called Ginola, name not my idea - hubbys fault. List of pets: Pretorian & Roman (hubby spent a while being addicted to the dvd Gladiator), then George & Arnie the Rotties.

Hubby spends spare time running thru field with GSD's shouting "stay with me hold the line", quote from the film. People think he's a nutter but he is my nutter so thats ok

    Regards, [IMG]

    :D Hi accidentalgardener,

You've got your hands full, but i bet their worth it. I had 2 golden retrievers and they were hard work. They did nothing but fall out and having three children i was forever runing in and out seperating the kids then the dogs haha.

    Tess,

Sounds like you got a bit of excerise with those Retrievers [IMG]

My four are pretty good, i use two of them as "touch" dogs's for a local disabled society, the other two are into agility and tracking (didn't help me out wading through a bog this afternoon tho  )

Food time is a bit eclectic tho, but Arnie is the leader of the pack although he is the youngest, they have 10 mins to eat and then the food is taken away. They are only fed once a day when they are working - keeps their attention going (the trackers).

Pretorian (tory), is very quiet but cuddly, Roman is a smiler, George is - well - he's just George, and Arnie is knackered at the end of the day due to putting so much effort into looking gorgeous and melting hearts [IMG] [IMG]

when you said your dogs have 10 minutes to eat i thought my word simba eats hers in 10 seconds, she is unbelievable with food. But is that something to do with being a pack animal?
    Tess  :D

You got it in one Tess,

Although some dog's can be a bit picky, hence my 10 minute rule. If it ain't gone they don't get a second chance.

They all have their seperate bowls/kongs dependent on whether i am going to stuff the kongs or just chuck it in the bowls. If i want peace and quiet i stuff the kongs, then they get up to 30 minutes to get the food out (usually on sundays [IMG] :D ;) the rest of the week is generally the bowl.

Mine are on the BARF diet. Arnie does try to steal at times but has given up on trying to steal the others food and settles for the odd sock here and there [IMG] :D :D
