Things like this are thought up by people who have nothing better to do than to think up ridiculous things. They are being paid for doing this with our tax money. Well, yours since I am over here in Germany, but we have the same problem here, using our tax money.

The trouble is that there are so many ideas/new rules and laws kicking around you can only wonder at the number of people who Toni/Gordy employ to do it. If its also in Germany pehaps its pan-European. I do so well remember the newspaper headline that asked if the last person to leave the country could turn out the light.

I agree about the making of far too many rules, regulations and laws that seems to be going on these days.
It wouldn't be so bad if things were actually improving, but what the powers that be seem unable to understand is that laws only affect the law abiding population, the unlawful still dont fall in line.
But in the sporran case I presume its one of those cases where a new law to protect certain animals has been brought it and the media have had a field day telling us that this only affects sporrans.
Old wine gum, I often wonder if there will be any lights left to turn out.

"For evil to prevail, good men just have to do nothing" If you disagree with legislation, write to your M.P. Admittedly, it probably won't help but it might give them the idea that many of us are fed up with "nanny" legislation.
