Dublin Bay seconded! It's my all time favourite. I feed all mine with a generous amount of chicken pellets in March and June and get a beautiful show from June right through to Christmas. Easy to propagate too.

We've two of these "Albertine" climbers this one against the garage and another in a large pot next to the front door.
This is their second year, they are of a similar size and are constantly growing, I've had to nip this one out where it has reached the gutter. They produce a lot of blooms (it was "raided" yesterday by my wife for a vase).
It also has a nice perfume and glossy green leaves. There's about thirty buds on this and it's in full sun for most of the day. The one at the front of the house just gets the sun in the morning and is nowhere near as prolific with blooms, though it came from a different supplier.

Woo, do you think Dublin Bay is better than Guinee? I would like to get a red climber but haven't been able to make my mind up.

My partner is looking for a climbing rose to plant in memory of her dog who has just died. He was a snowy white dog and she wants a white scented climber to grow against a North East facing wall. Would any of these suggestions be suitable or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi Wiseoldowl, Many thanks for your suggestions. We went with Alberic Barbier in the end. It was a David Austin rose from Wyvale Garden Centre in Hereford. They were most helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend them. The rose is now planted and my partner finds great solice from this.
