It would be nice to be rich and to be able to do something worthwhile with the money..dont you think a lot of really rich people just hoard it or spend it on material things ..i.e they will have 5 houses ..why do they need 5 houses?..it would be nice to just have it..just think how many plants we could buy!!

Wildflower - what a lovely thought, spending one's money (surplus that is) on plants! It's no longer a case of 'keeping up with the Joneses' but more of 'mine's bigger and better than yours'. All the real values in life have no importance any more, only money counts.

Exactly floris, my particular gripe is that carers (Mrs.DAG was a carer for 4 years - her mother died with cancer) and associated nurses/charity support nurses are such unsung heroes, low paid or not paid at all, and their job is far tougher than I ever imagined. Not 9 to 5 but demanding 24 hours a day every day, just how do they do it?

Yet in today's society they are unrecognised and probably at the bottom of the pile!

Meanwhile we make heroes of people playing football? Oh, and the pay isn't bad either!

Sorry to pick out only one of many, many examples in life that are similar and every bit as deserving, but real values, tell me about it!
Stop the world, I want to get off! ;)

Here here Dag could not agree more. Pay the nurses and carers a decent wage , and made the footballers help them two or three days aweek if they want to keep their big salary but they would only get under the nurses feet [IMG] ;)

I'd be happy with a sugar daddy who just wants somebody to spend his money on, without ever meeting me!! A one-off payment would be better! :D

Thanks Beefy for the support, but I wouldn't want to punish the footballers - good luck to them, but modern society does seem to have upside down values!

Jay: :D Trouble is, you would be at the back of the queue! ;)

Dag ,footballers wages and the wages of nurses and carers really get up my nose. Noone and I mean NOONE is worth £100 grand a WEEK it is ridiculous. Contrast that with carers who get a pittance for what they do . My aunt looked after my Grandfather for nearly 15 years before he passed on last year from the big C and the powers that be fought her every step of the way every time something was needed for him.Determined old bu**er, he made it to 98 lived in his own home till the end with home help morning, dinnertime and the evening would not here tell of nursing homes etc.

Enough to live, and a bit left over for pleasure, does me fine - less and I would agree with you. If I won the lottery, besides perhaps changing my house to a small detached one surrounded by a garden in the same area - would be the only thing I would change. The rest would sit in the bank gathering dust and interest.

Ain't it nice to be happy :D

I like having money to spend and if I was rich I would gladly spend it on all you lovely ladies. I used to work in the bank vaults where you lose all concept of the value of paper money. Most days I could hold the value of my house in my hands!!!
