Astrantia

    I bought an Astrantia on line from a well known site,but it has
    failed to flower,lots of leaves and is healthy,but no sign of a flower,
    it is in a sunny position,and I have watered it most days,should I feed it?:help:

    I don't know what's wrong with your Astrantia UncleTom.
    I suspect the answer is nothing but time and patience.
    I grow them and think they always flowered in their first year, but if the plants are growing well and look healthy then I think you are just talking about patience. They will flower next year.

    Like Alice says it will probably flower next year, I wouldn't be feeding at this time of year now tbh, if anything it will encourage more greenery. Leave it and it will be ok.

    Maybe it's in too sunny a location - they like dappled shade as a preferred spot. But that's the only thing I can think of.

    Thank you all for your help,I will be patient then,and hope for flowers next
    year,do they need a lot of water,as they sre in a sunny spot?

    I don't think there is a problem UncleTom. I have several that are very reliable, but I bought a new one 'Mrs Gill Richardson' a couple of years ago and it took a little while to settle down. I don't think it flowered the first year.
