Winter Colour in bags wanted!

    I currently have 5 hanging flower bags with 12 slots with bizzy lizzies growing in them, they are now full bloom on our concrete fence posts, when winter comes what flowers can i put in the bags that will provide winter colour? thanks

    Hi ant,
    There is plenty to choose from.. If it is just colour you want there are pansies, polyanthus primroses wallflowers dianthus cyclamens gaultheria.. You can have variegated ivy Euonymous is about all I can think of, but remember to look out for hard frosts..!!:thumb:

    Hi ant, I usually fill our bags/baskets with Pansies, they will stay in flower over the winter giving you some colour, they obvoiusly won't grow much but in the spring they will burst into growth and flower, keep them fed and well watered once they begin to grow.

    Hi ant you could plant Achimenes along with dwarf spring bulbs and hardy cycleman.
