No I don't like to see him Gemini.
The big Roman snails are enough for me.
But I seem to be be blessed - slugs and snails here are few and far between.

Don't know what type of snail it is but it looks disgusting, sorry Gemini but I find snails
abhorrent, usually stomping on them before they get to my Hostas. I don't think you'll
get many snail fans on here?????.

I would not want those loose in my garden, bet they can do some damage.

Sold as food you say? Well I would give that a miss if it was on the menu.

A neighbour once asked me to look after her children's pets while the family was on holiday. I knew about the cat and the guinea pigs ... but somehow she forgot to tell me about the giant African snail. Feeding it was a disgusting experience, because it used to lurk under the lid of its tank, ready to flop down onto my hand as I tried to drop in food.

The neighbour also forgot to mention that the cat was senile and into throwing itself at passing cars. I was very glad that nothing died on my watch and I'm afraid I told a few fibs the following year so that I didn't have to go through a repeat performance.

Oh that is huge! I couldn't have one myself but I don't kill snails either. I gather them up :euw: then release them on the field opposite us.
I think slugs are worse than snails any day though.

Jazmine, they just come home if you do that. Next time you gather them up, put a little dot of Tippex on their shells so you can identify them. I guarantee they'll be back home in no time. :lollol:

PS I used to know a woman who took a bagful of snails out in her car regularly. She'd tip them out in some remote country lane or other shouting: 'NOW find your way home, garden wreckers!' It must have confused the hell out of the snails.

Like people who throw them over the fence/hedge into the next door neighbour's garden....who probably do the same.

I prefer the more instant, method of 'control'.
