Not sure about the first but the second looks very much like a Heather to me.:thumb:

Hi Akula, the first one is Smoketree (Cotinus), the second one I can't see very clearly but it might be the nasty weed horsetails.

Does number two have a pungent smell when crushed? looks very much like the Herb Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)

No 1 looks like Cotinus smoke bush.
No2 is not the weed horsetail. Piccy not too good but I would second Dai and go for Heather.

I thought it was Rosemary too. Next to it is a Lavender, which might give a clue as to height and growing location.

A report back on the smell will tell!

The first one looks like Perückenstrauch / Smoketree.

The second one looks like Rosemary. Definitely not Horse Tail.

What is the score now? :hehe:

First one is definitely Cotinus but the second one looks too 'sprawly' to me for Rosemary. I think it's heather of some sort.

Rosemary varies quite a lot in habit. 'Miss Jessop's Upright' is a selected form which behaves as its name suggests. Rosemary 'Prostratus' stays low and sprawls everywhere. We need to know what the leaves smell like!

No 2. Rosemary or Heather? I withdraw my horsetail guess :)
