Err! Why don't we just ask AKULA to add a close up of the 2nd plant to this post.

    Good idea, Silver surfer. :thumb:

AKULA, would you please post a close-up of the second plant. Then we could probably agree on either a heather or a rosemary plant. Thanks!

    1. A very wee smokebush. Possibly Cotinus coggygria purpureus.
    2. Definitely Rosmary, probably prostratus as ClaraLou said.

Cheers for the replies everyone, these pics were taken last week while i was holidaying at Butlins. Sorry i havnt got any closeups of the second plant, nor can i comment on any smells:dh:

The first is definitely a smoke tree/bush, i find this plant so unusual/interesting, and intend to purchase one for my garden :)

After googling images of Heathers and Rosemary shrubs, the Rosemary seems to be the best bet, and resembles the plant in question more closely.:)

Thankyou all for your help :D

Does the above look like Heather, because it's the creeping form of Rosemary!

    I vote Rosemarinus.

Too big for a heather I think.

    Hold on everyone....

IF it was Rosemary then surely we should be seeing flowers!
    As shown on Sussexgardeners pics.

I am not convinced that it is either Rosemary OR a Heather.

    But we will never know!

    Hi Silver

My Rosemary isn't in flower at the moment. It flowered way back in the spring and seems to be taking a break at the moment.

Not my pic - taken from a search on google images...as you will see by the accreditation in the top left hand corner of the picture. It was only being used as an example - and yes, Rosemary blooms in Spring...
