Morning Shiney, Kandy, Rosa and all.

Rosa I do hope your airport trip is problem free today and that it isn't too taxing for you driving there but am pretty sure seeing your beloved will be worth all the hassle.:luv:

Kandy it is really nice walking around our village too in the evenings in fact it's the best time for Bob and I to have a good old nosey at other people's gardens!:hehe:

Shiney that's very strange you talking about there should be some kind of hostel for MPs near parliament because I was talking about that with Dan only yesterday only I was being more generous than you and was suggesting a hotel. I think it would certainly sort that bunch out that has sticky fingers and memory loss!

Don't worry Shiney I'm sure all you need to do is to change into your super-hero costume and you will soon be able to get that house of yours back on track.:thumb:

Managed to go over the plost yesterday between the heavy showers and weed one large onion bed plant a few other veg. I promise once it's presentable I'll take some pictures.

    Have a nice day guys.Hel.xxx.

Morning Woo,Rosa and everyoneI must have overslept this morning as you have beaten me today:hehe:

Woo,hope you enjoyed your walk with Penny and Gypsy and I know you will enjoy the Dickens Festival. It doesn't seem five minutes since the last one:D

Rosa,I think all parking charges are a rip off especially the Hospitals. We use to worry that our time would run out and me and Mr Kandy would have to put in money for another two hours because the Dr's were so slow in getting to see us.They have changed it now though where you put your ticket in the machine and it works out how much you have to pay which is better:thmb: When my friend used to drop her hubby off at one hospital she would take a book and sit in the car until the time was up and then she would drive home so she got her monies worth. I couldn't be bothered wasting my time doing that:(:D

Shiney looks like you are going to have fantastic weather for tomorrow.I doubt if Mr Kandy will want to go because he lost so much weekend time helping his dad, working all weekend, clearing out an elderly relatives flat and the weather against us plus me with my hand problem that we are struggling to try and catch up with everything. He now has told me he has to work all next weekend as well.:( Hope you raise lots of money for your chosen charity.:thmb:

By the way,how is Amy,is she still around?

Helen sounds like you are busy with the weeding. We have all our carrots, beetroot and bunching onions to do plus Parsnips if we can find them:D

Well the weather forecast is beautiful for the weekend and BH and everyone seeems to have picked the right time to go away.I am on Goldfish watch for the next two weeksish as the owners are away for a week and probably won't have time to be in a hurry to clean out his tank when they get home so I shall keep him until they ask for him back:D

The sun is shining brightly and we have no breeze so hope you all have a great day in all that you do:luv:

Hi Rosa, good luck with the MOT:thumb:.Mr Kandy took ours earlier in the month for a service and mot and it cost over £400 to get both bits done, ouch. What a rip off:mad: I preffered it when he had his old Ford cars and he was able to do all the servicing himself but you can't do that with these new cars because they are all computerised.:(

My Myrtle has just shown 8,000 miles on the clock so that is good mileage for a 2 1/2 year old car.I have my first service due in December.I can't believe I have had her nearly three years:D

Morning Woo, Rosa, Kandy and all.

Woo that Charles Dickens Festival sounds fun I would love to see that.

I dread to think about the hospital parking charges when Bob finally has to have dialysis but I would think that the hospital would give me a permit for free parking in the grounds wouldn't you?

Kandy Goldfish watching sounds fun but I do wonder about your cats!:hehe:

Managed to have 4 glorious hours over at the plots and have weeded yet another bed of onions, my long flower bed and the first bed in our original plot. Bob managed to do some digging for the sweet-corn, fruit bed and my goodness was we both chuffed to pieces that he managed to do that he did so very well.

Well the weather looks nice today so we are looking forward to another go down on the allotments. Have a nice day guys.Hel.xxxx.

    Good morning everyone,

Helen, the only problem is that my super-hero costume is in the wash so I shall have to get by without my super powers :hehe:

Kandy, is goldfish watching better than counting sheep? :) Aimee is fine but we haven't had to dog sit since last September. Her human servant has now retired and doesn't go away on business any more.

We've already had people turning up this morning who want to buy plants but can't get here tomorrow. As with the garden centres, the first plants to go are the ones in bloom. Someone just drove off with a 3ft high weigelia in full bloom, four aquilegias in full bloom (dug out of the garden the other day and put in plastic bags) and two irises ready to open - all for a bargain price of £11.50

The weather forecast is excellent so I hope we get a lot of people. The charity are bringing along some extra tables and chairs and they said that they have asked some of their people to make cakes so I hope there are enough. A professional cake maker is making two big cakes for us and some friends are making cakes. The last time that we had good weather for our open day the visitors looked around the garden and then sat having tea and cakes and socialising until we kicked them out :D

Today I am going to do a final trim of all the lawn edges and a final run over with the mower. I've got to get the shears out and cut down all the stinging nettles on the grass verge by the field opposite so that the people will be able to see the signs that I shall hammer into the verge. It would be easier if I had a strimmer :(

Oscar is still helping Mrs shiney price up the plants but he occasionally disagrees with the price and pulls the label out :hehe:

Have a great day and weekend :D

    Hello everyone,
I never manage to get on here in the mornings, and I haven't been letting myself near the computer at night as I'm trying to catch up on sleep!
Many thanks for your birthday wishes for my little one. The party was great, finished about 6.30, then we had to go to the veg garden to sort out the collapsed mini-greenhouse :(. It was late when we got home, all tired, and Mr S and I finally got to bed at 1am after present-wrapping for the morning, and the birthday boy woke up all excited and opened them at 5.15am!!:help:
Shiney, good luck for tomorrow, hope the weather is good for you .
Hel, that's great that you and Bob enjoyed that work together on the veg plot. Looking forward to seeing some photos of it.
Kandy, Myrtle is such a lovely name for a car! My first one was Molly, then I got Mabel, who has just sadly passed on due to terminal rust! Mr S has just been to London to collect the new Molly, bought on e-bay, and drove her back to Ireland yesterday. Cars are much more expensive here, and even with the import tax you can get something much better for the money, buying them in the UK. This new one is 10 yrs old, but in great condition and low mileage, so hopefully will last for a while.
Still no gardening to report as the weather continues to be typically Irish!
Have a great weekend everyone :)

    Hi Everyone

I was on late yesterday morning because we had people turning up early and I won't have a chance to get on here later this morning. So I thought I would say hello before going to bed :hehe:.

I've just finished making the sandwiches for lunch for the helpers. That will be followed by strawberries and cream.

Early in the morning I shall have to go out and put the signs up and put out the cones that the police have given us. The cones are to stop people parking near the bends in the road. We shall have to do a nice display of all the raffle prizes. Set up the tables for some of the crafts and for the teas (they are under cover just in case it rains in the night), put the signs on the plants and hammer posts in the ground with signs on to tell people not to tread on the bee orchids that are just beginning to poke up through the lawn. We also have to pick up helpers from the station.

I'll try and take pictures if I have time.

Oscar is going to love it with all the people around to pet him :D

    Have a great sunday :)

Good morning woo, rosa and everyone,

It's only four and a half hours since my last post but I've stopped working so I can have a cuppa. :)

The sun is shining and yesterday's wind has dropped. It looks as though we are going to have a hot one today. Tables and chairs are now set up and signs are out. I noticed while I was out there that the bird feeder needs filling and scrubbing down so that is next. It will soon be time to wake Mrs shiney :hehe:

    Have a great day :D
