    I think it is a Leycesteria. Pheasant Berry.

    It certainly is Fonzie, isn't its other name the Hymalayan honeysuckle?

    Or Himalayan Nutmeg. Leycesteria Formosa is the only one in general cultivation. Some countries class this shrub as an invasive weed. Love it or loathe it it does have it's attractions. [​IMG]

    Thank you all for your comments. I have this plant in a pot and it looks rather nice but I wasn't aware that it was invasive. Maybe I won't plant it in the ground then. Yes the pet name for it is the Himalayan honeysuckle or pheasant berry according to my research on the web this evening. ;)

    They seed like crazy, I like them but not in my garden, they are also known as Chinese nutmeg. David.
