I found this self seeded in the garden last year and potted it up in the spring. Can anyone identify it? My best guess, and I'm rotten at identifying plants, is some kind of hebe.
    It's about 15cm tall now.

The more I look at it the more it resembles a hebe Pete. We do have a couple of hebes that we grew from cuttings filched in the Hebrides the main difference is that the seedling is so staight and compact and the established plants are quite sprawly bushes.
    Time will tell!

I have one of these in my garden about 2 ft high. It sometimes has tiny insignificant white flowers. It just appeared in my garden so I presumed a bird must have dropped the seed. It is a shrub but not a hebe. I have seen the name somewhere so will look again to find it and let you know. I keep thinking it is a Laurel of some sort?!?!?!

I am thinking that it could be the spurge laurel although I could be wrong.

I think Dave W is away at the moment, but we will have to get him to cut a leaf off and see if the white sap runs.

I agree - looks like a euphorbia, and they do self seed a lot. If there's a milky sap, watch out Dave, if it's a euphorbia, it could cause a few probs if you handle it without gloves.

Yes, I agree, it could be a euphorbia. Hadn't thought about that one. The milky sap will settle it and yes it is an irritant if you get it on your skin. So place your bets now. Euphorbia or Spurge Laurel???

Euphorbia is Spurge, but the plant could also be Pittosporum tobira. David.
