Both of these came from one of these fields where you cut your own flowers.

The lady there forgot the name of the flower but thought it was related to Tagetes. She also said that it lasted a long while in the vase.

She said that she had made a bouquet for herself recently using the above flowers and this grass, which BTW, did not last as long as the flowers. However, it looked very nice in the bouquet we put together for some friends, giving height and filling the bouquet out nicely.

Now I would like to ID both of these so that we can try them out here at home next year. Thanks!

I can't help Kedi-Gato, but I would be interested to know what the bottom one is as I have tons of the stuff popping up in the flower beds.

So that means that if I get some next year I better plant it in the furthest corner of our garden! Thanks for the tip Celia.

The grass could be Annual Meadow Grass (Poa annua). It's an annual that self-seeds everywhere, so the best way to control it is hoe or weed it out when it comes up. You can't do much else, really.

The flower definitely looks like a Tagete, but I've no idea what species or variety.
