what is this please

    could someone tell me what this is as my neighbours and i all thought it was a carrot plant but there is no carrots on the end of it and this has some sort of flower growing on the top of it

    anyone have any clue we thought it was a carrot because of its leaves but no carrots as I said before.

    Dunno what it's called but I remember an old neighbour having them, they aren't carrots they are bedding plants I think

    is it an old ladies plant then cos people i have spoke to said there mothers had them in there garden :eek: :eek: :D :D

    my mother had them years ago in her garden i,m sure it was them but dont know the name of them, I used to tell her she had weeds in her garden and i would pull them up for her, she said they werent and pretty sure they had blue flowers, as my mother loved anything blue. sorry i cant be of more help

    Sorry Patricia, I meant an old neighbour as in an ex-neighbour (where I used to live), she wasn't old :D

    well never mind dizi if Rosas mam had them and my neighbour has them they MUST be old my neighbour is 70 :eek: :eek: :D :D

    well i thought they were weeds and they still look like weeds to me :D :D lets hope someone can prove me wrong :eek: :confused:

    Gotta say it looks a bit like a carrot to me as well.
    Dont think even I would grow that as an ornamental

    Looks like Nigella ---"Love in the mist" to me. The flowers are blue and feathery.

    I vote for Love in the Mist, looking at what looks like a bud and they seed around. You will have to put up a photo when the flower opens.

    Stem looks wrong for Nigella, the whole plant looks too "heavy" for want of a better word, Nigella is more delicate, hence the Love in a mist name.

    Have to agree with Mike not Nigella Possibly Achillea(Yarrow) There are many different varieties ,Not 100% sure though. [​IMG]
